Byron Bay Black & White Fine Art Print The Wreck

On May 14th, 1921, the TSS Wollongbar was berthed at the old jetty byron Bay. The captain released the Wollongbar from her moorings in an attempt to put her to sea to avoid a strong easterly battering. The Wollongbars stern hit a sand bank west of the old jetty, the anchor failed to hold the ship which was then gradually blown inshore. The Wollongbar was 87 metres in length, had a 12 metre beam and weighed over 2000 tons.

The Wreck or Shipwrecks as it is sometimes refereed to sets up sandbanks perfect for a E/SE swell. When there is no swell snorkelers and divers can be seen exploring the wreck.

This series of Large Byron Bay Black & White Prints are printed on Archival Fuji Crystal Paper and will last a lifetime with the proper care, they are created in standard sizes and will fit right into a standard size frame of your choosing.
